DMH Welcomes New Director of Community and Government Relations
Decatur, IL – Dec. 18, 2007 – Julie Moore has been named director of Community and Government Relations at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Her responsibilities include lobbying at the state and federal government level on behalf of Decatur Memorial Hospital. She will serve as an advocate with the Illinois General Assembly, United States Congress, State of Illinois Governor and the Council of State on health care issues and its effect on Decatur Memorial Hospital, and will also serve as a liaison with other local, state, and federal government and political agencies. In addition, Moore will represent DMH throughout the community by participating in community organizations, service clubs and various civic events.
Moore was most recently regional manager at the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in Springfield. She was president of the Chamber of Commerce of Decatur and Macon County from 1997 to 2004, and was a news anchor from 1986 to 1997 at WAND-TV in Decatur.
Originally from Mattoon, Ill., Moore received a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1982 from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She serves on the St. Teresa High School Advancement Board of Directors and has served on the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
