Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board Approves Cancer Care Center of Decatur July 1, 2008...A Certificate of Need from the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board was granted today for the new Cancer Care Center of Decatur. This allows plans to now move forward for the DMH Cancer Care Institute and Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, S.C., to come together at a newly constructed facility located east of the Greater Decatur Y in Decatur. Decatur Memorial Hospital’s Brain & Stroke Center has been awarded Primary Stroke Center Certification and the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission.
